It is an honour for me to represent the Estonian delegation at the adoption of the preliminary report of the third Universal Periodic Review of Estonia that took place in the afternoon of May 4th.
I would like to take this opportunity to extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who facilitated drafting and presentation of our UPR report– members of the Troika – the Netherlands as the Rapporteur, Bangladesh and Senegal and the Secretariat for their effective and professional conduct of this hybrid session, including interpreters.
I would also like to extend our thanks to Madam President for her excellent leadership during our review meeting. Allow me also use this opportunity to thank all stakeholders, especially the Chancellor of Justice, first time in the role of NHRI, and the Estonian civil society, for their reports and additional information and comments to our national report.
